Hawks Exercise Option On Horford
In news that probably doesn’t surprise anyone, the Hawks have picked up the 2010-11 option on Al Horford. Big Al (who’s now on Twitter!) has been an anchor down low for the Hawks for the past two seasons, and hopefully will be for years to come.
Horford and company fell to the Detroit Pistons last night, 100-91, for the team’s first loss of the preseason. Marvin Williams was the offensive star for the Hawks, leading the team with 19 points, while Othello Hunter added 14 and 7 off the pine.
They’ll be back at it tonight as they host the Charlotte Bobcats at Philips Arena at 7:00 ET.

Keep AL! Although i shouldnt have to say that, yal are smart in the front office(i hope).
Preseason lost is a meaningless loss. They have to get used to eachother and our newly acquired big men have to get healthy( and our starters have to actually play: not a real season game, preseason)
So let’s go hawks! lets see some unity!
i think hawksgirl is right it is not the nba season IT’S preseason
Awesome news! Go Big Al Boss Horford! Go Hawks!
I for one think the hawks front office and mike woodson is doing a good job in atl. Go Hawks Go *09* *10* season say on top
I ALSO THINK THE ATLANTA HAWKS WILL GET ATL FULL SUPPORT THIS SEASON. LETS GO HAWKS LETS GO!
AL loves the Hawks and the organization loves him as well. This was a no-brainer. Hopefully JJ will make the decision to stay after the season is over, eventually bringing a championship to Atlanta within the next 3 to 5 years!
BOSS!
Let Joe Johnson go,he’s not a take over type guy . Jeff Teague n Jamal Crawford can fill his shoe’s. let’s take that money n go after a star or big man like Chris Bosh who can truly play center.
