Resorting to Red

The Hawks hadn’t lost while wearing their red uniforms this season, so a night after scoring 59 points they must have figured it couldn’t hurt to tap into any kind of positive Karma they could find.

In the end the Hawks got exactly what they needed. They got a big (and efficient) offensive night from Joe Johnson (32 pts on 12/18 shooting). They got an active J-Smoove on both ends of the court (16 pts, 7 reb, 2 blk). They got a great game from Bibby after he was shut out the night before (14 pts, 8 REBOUNDS). Finally, Atlanta got great contributions from their role players. From Zaza, Mo and Damien Wilkins each played substantial minutes (over 26 apiece) and gave Coach Drew exactly what he wanted.

i believe they should wear red until they are defeated … logical to me to say the least/ Also i really do my homework on ALL nba players and i truly think JORDAN CRAWFORD should play 20 plus minutes a game ….PERIOD

Jeff Teague Stays On Bench, Not Sure Why.Guard Jeff Teague has stayed on the bench for seven of the Hawks’ 45 games. Three of them have been in the past four games, including Saturday night’s. In each, he was the only Hawks player coach Larry Drew kept on the bench.

With Saturday night’s game in hand, Drew put in rookie Jordan Crawford for the final 66 seconds while keeping Teague on the bench.

“Jeff has to continue to try to get better when he gets opportunities, when he’s by himself [and] when we practice,” Jamal Crawford said. “He has a bright future. His time will come.”

After Saturday night’s game, Teague said he and Drew hadn’t talked “in awhile” and wasn’t sure what was limiting his minutes.

“If you get in there, you’d better do what you can do,” Teague said. “If he doesn’t put me in, I’ll cheer for my teammates and hopefully they’ll do well.”
