Rehab Updates
One Hawk nears the finish line, while another is mapping out his course to recovery.
Kirk Hinrich has been rehabilitating his left shoulder after having a surgical procedure performed on it in early November. He was cleared for all non-contact drills after a January 3 check-up in Chicago, and hopes to be back in uniform at some point during the Hawks current five-game, nine-day road trip.
When Hinrich returns, the Hawks will have another option in a backcourt that has received contributions from many sources already this season. Before last Friday’s game with the 76ers, Larry Drew talked about the challenge of having increased depth this season:
Meanwhile, Al Horford underwent surgery on his torn pectoral muscle on January 17. Horford was re-examined by Dr. Xavier Duralde on Saturday, and it was determined that he could begin strengthening work in six weeks.

I hope Al gets better because were going to need him
Without Al and Kirk, Atlanta is hurting! Luckily we have some fresh faces out there that have been doing a lot of good. If we keep it up and every one gets healthy it could change the set up for other teams competing later on for post season positions. Kirk and Al are Play Off material!
Hinrich or Teague!? who should start?
Teague……
teague
Teague!!!
Teague should start. He has the energy and scoring prowess to push this team. Hinrich will be a great weapon to come off the bench with experience and swag.
Hawks need to make a stand. This could be the last chance you see this team together. The key to the Hawks is Josh Smith. So goes Josh so goes the Hawks. We know Joe can put the ball in the basket but its defense that wins the game. When Josh play a complete game the Hawks win. Josh is a star in this league when he play his game. Hinrich should start but Teague should play most min. Teague can break down any defense and again defense sets the tone. Someone Please tell Drew we must get that Small Forward to produce who ever it is in the game. The 3 spot is killing us. Marvin have not produce in 2 years.
Marvin has played well this year. Josh brings this team down with his wild outside shots.
If Josh fill that stat sheet like we all no he can then the Hawks can win it all. His defense is the key to the Hawks Front line. It keeps the other teams out the paint and Long misses keeps Hawks on the run. Marvin have played well when he healthy but we need production. 12 points and at least 8 rebounds from the 3spot will put the Hawks with the elite. Josh shoots cause the other guys are not. he take shoots a normal 3spot will take. I say when Al and Hinrich get back lets play small. bring T Mac in as a starter with Joe and teague. Of the bench should be Hinrich the ZAZA unless we play Orlando. Romonvinch should come in at the Three and we go from there. Marvin plays well of the bench. He is a good role player. Put him on the bench
josh hit that key 3 pointer last night ,what are some of these so call fans talking about.go hawks
@calvin wat are you talking about Josh Hit The DAGGER… so keep ur gap closed if u know nothing about The Hawks or Josh Smith
Peace
@Calvin is completely right. Any one who watches Hawks basketball knows that Josh knows nothing about shot selection. He cant shoot outside very well(yet he continues to do so), but he is a monster in the paint.
@Calvin, @Rock, @Karol & @Jordan…
This is risky to even jump into this debate, but I wanted to throw some numbers out there to support Smoove.
He is shooting almost 40% (46/118) this season from outside the lane and inside the 3-pt line… a VERY respectable percentage for a forward. One problem is that he draws criticism because he is so good inside the lane (62%) that people want him to drive ALL THE TIME. When he is taking open shots within the flow of the offense (as opposed to settling for contested jumpers) then he is effective. Last night’s clutch 3-ptr was a great example.
Jon thanks for the numbers. Josh playing some ball while Al is down. Hawks have a great team. You all is answering what I said, If Josh fill that stat sheet like we all no he can then the Hawks can win it all. His defense is the key to the Hawks Front line. It keeps the other teams out the paint and Long misses keeps Hawks on the run. Marvin have played well when he healthy but we need production. 12 points and at least 8 rebounds from the 3spot will put the Hawks with the elite. I mean Radmanovic
Lets go Lakers!!!
I’m a Hawks fan for life
Rock and KaroLT, you all know that when Josh shot that three, you all were like “NOOOOOOOOO…YES!” Josh is NOT a three pointer shooter, period! His game is best when he is either posting up, and lately within 16th. And I know PLENTY about the Hawks b/c i’ve been following them since I was 6. Sau, get a life and the Lakers aren’t even the best team in LA anymore, GO CLIPPERS, lol!!!! Hawks better than both of those teams!
Amen Bro

Hawks could win it all
