Hawks Could Catch a Break

The Hawks know that they will be playing without their franchise player on Monday night in Orlando. What is “questionable” is whether or not the Magic will have to deal with the same challenge. Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson, Mickael Pietrus and J.J. Redick are all battling a stomach virus and may not suit up for tonight’s game.

Howard would obviously be Orlando’s biggest loss. The 7-footer poses a huge match-up problem for the Hawks (and most of the rest of the league) and his defensive presence always gives Atlanta trouble.

Nelson’s absence would also be big for the Hawks who are often victimized by quick guards that are good at penetrating deep into the lane.

In reality any of the quartet missing the game would be a lift for Atlanta. If nothing else it takes away a key weapon from a team that has done a good job of filling specific roles on their roster.

Stay tuned for updates on who is IN and who is OUT for tonight’s contest.
