Full Force in Miami

The Hawks make their second trip to Miami tonight to take on the Heat.

The Heat are the most controversial team in the league with their superstar trio of LeBron, D-Wade and Chris Bosh. Many critics say that their thin bench keeps them from being a true favorite in the East, while others cite those three players and say it doesn’t matter. Miami has provided both sides plenty of evidence to support their arguments.  The Heat have had three separate losing streaks of three or more games (including their current streak) but also boast a streak of winning 21 out of 22 games.

But I digress…

The Hawks lost their first game against Miami by twelve points, but with under five minutes remaining they only trailed by two points. Plus, Atlanta was playing without Joe Johnson, who has been playing as well as anyone in the league this month.

Joe is currently tied for second in the NBA this month in scoring, averaging 28.9 points while leading the Hawks to a 6-1 record. He is shooting over 52% from the field and over 42% from behind the arc and still playing an excellent all-around game by chipping in with 4 rebounds and 4 assists per game.

With Joe in the line-up and 2/3 of the Heat’s three-headed monster nursing injuries, Atlanta should me confident and motivated for tonight’s game. Both LeBron and Bosh are banged up, but neither have been ruled out for tonight.
