Here is a quick update from the Hawks shootaround this morning as the team prepares for tonight’s match-up with the Miami Heat.

– J-Smoove will be back in the Hawks line-up tonight, although Coach Drew plans on limiting his minutes.
– Jason Collins will not be in uniform again tonight. He is still resting the ankle that he injured last week against San Antonio.
– Marvin Williams tweaked his ankle in Washington and may be forced to miss some action as well.

LD also had this to say when asked if the recent road trip raised any red flags:

“I think in this situation when you’ve locked up a spot and you’re basically finishing out the regular season, you hope that your team will look at the situation as an opportunity to try to gain some momentum going into the playoffs. Looking at our last couple performances I would say that’s not the case… and I’m concerned about that. At the same time keeping things in proper perspective the most important thing is trying to get to the playoffs as healthy as we can.  You know, what happened with Marvin the other night is the one thing that you don’t want to happen. Where you get a starter, a key guy, gets hurt in a game that has very little meaning. Yes, I want to play well and, as I mentioned, carry momentum into the playoffs, but the last thing I want to happen is one of my players to get hurt. We hope that we can go into the playoffs as healthy as we can, that’s our number one objective.”
