The Hawks sorely missed Al Horford on the blocks in the loss to Golden State on Wednesday, but the big man (along with Devin Harris) should be back in action for tonight’s game against the Kings as Atlanta puts the finishing touches on a week-long, 4-game West coast road trip.

The Kings aren’t necessarily world beaters (off to a 2-6 start so far), but nevertheless beating them tonight would be a pretty nice feather in the Hawks’ cap and a terrific finish to what has been a very difficult start to the season.

A win tonight puts the Hawks at 2-2 on their road swing (a goal for any long Western trip given the time difference) and 4-4 overall, and with a favorable schedule coming up at Philips Arena puts the team in terrific position to assert itself in the Eastern Conference.

The Kings may be down, but they are not without talent. DeMarcus Cousins returns after a two-game suspension, so if Horford isn’t 100% after being sick he’ll need some help from Ivan Johnson and Zaza Pachulia to keep DMC in check.

Tip off in Sacramento is set for 10:00 ET — stay up late and join us for all the action on SportSouth and on Twitter as the Hawks look to finish strong.
