31 Days Until the Atlanta Hawks’ Season
We are counting down the days until the Hawks’ season-opener in Dallas by giving you 50 things to be excited about this year. With 31 days left, today’s reason is…
Sure, Open Practice actually happens before the season, but it means that we’re officially out of the offseason and into the preseason. This year, Open Practice takes place on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 5 p.m. at Philips Arena. Admission is free for all fans, and seats are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Doors open at 4 p.m. at the CNN Center entrance to the arena.
The session will open with Hawks radio play-by-play man Steve Holman introducing head coach Mike Budenholzer, followed by a brief Q&A. The players will then go through warm-ups just like they would in a regular practice. The coaching staff will then split the roster into two teams, players will be introduced, and there will be three 12-minute quarters of actual game play.
This is the fans’ first opportunity to see the 2013-14 edition of the Hawks, and we’re excited to show you what we’ve been working all summer to build! We encourage you to spread the word to family and friends, but please RSVP by clicking here so we know how many people to expect.
The season is right around the corner now. Go Hawks!
