Training Camp Practice Report – Day 3

By Jaryd Wilson

The Hawks concluded their 3-day training camp in Athens with their fifth and final practice today. Once again, the team focused on improving defensively as the first preseason game draws near.

Head Coach Mike Budenholzer talked after practice and stressed that the team had a very good week and that the players not only met, but in some cases, exceeded his expectations.

The guys seem to be building chemistry and getting to know one another better as players were seen laughing and joking around while shooting free throws after practice.

Most teams hold training camps that last longer than three days, but the Hawks took a short and rigorous approach to the week.

Coach Bud also showed his soft side as he joked with Al Horford about jinxing three different players’ shots during practice.

Elton Brand said that the team is progressing nicely but at this point, the offense seems to be a little bit ahead of the defense.

The team now heads back to Atlanta where they will continue to practice, including one that is open to the public on Saturday at Philips Arena from 5-7 p.m.  Click here to RSVP.
