The Hawks have signed small forward James Nunnally to a 10-day contract.

Atlanta was able to make the move after opening a roster spot by waiving Cartier Martin on Tuesday.

I’m not going to pretend like I know anything about Nunnally yet, but his numbers with the Bakersfield Jam (18.2 points in 33 minutes per game) are pretty good.  In Coach Bud’s system, it’s always good to have wing players who can make shots, and Nunnally is shooting better than 41 percent from three.

The 6’7,” 205-pound 23-year-old was on the Phoenix Suns’ training camp roster but didn’t make their team.

With Martin no longer on the team, John Jenkins hurt and Jared Cunningham still in Bakersfield, the Hawks are thin at the wing position and should benefit from having Nunnally on the team for the next week-and-a-half.
