Whoops! Dennis Schröder Enters Game In Practice Shorts
It’s all part of the learning process for rookie point guard Dennis Schröder. You know, pick-and-rolls, hedging screens, wearing the right shorts, shoo…wait, wearing the right shorts?
That’s right. The 20-year-old from Germany checked into the game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, a game he got an opportunity to play in thanks in part to the injury of Jeff Teague, still dressed in his practice shorts.
A Hawks equipment manager noticed the oddity. Shortly after making a layup, Schröder ran to the bench and changed shorts right there on the sideline.
Folks near the bench said Coach Bud wasn’t pleased with his rookie, but at least the Hawks were playing well. If they hold on and win, this’ll probably turn into a big locker room laugh.
Thanks to Peachtree Hoops’ Jane Hammond for documenting the moment, now dubbed #ShortsGate on Twitter.
