Pero Antic Selected To Rising Stars Challenge

Macedonia – Go crazy!

Pero Antic has been selected to the player pool for the Rising Stars Challenge, the NBA’s game that features the nine best rookies and nine best sophomores from the season’s first half.

The game is part of All-Star Weekend Feb. 14-16 in New Orleans.

Antic wouldn’t have been in the conversation a month ago, but Al Horford’s injury has opened up playing time for the 6’11” Macedonian center, who has been a regular starter all of January.  In eight starts this month, he leads all rookies in rebounds and threes made per game, and is fourth in scoring.

And how about a shoutout to Mike Scott as well.  He didn’t make the field, but that’s more because of the strong sophomore class that includes Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond and Harrison Barnes, among others.  His numbers, especially of late, warranted consideration, and it was probably tough for assistant coaches around the league to leave him out.

He’s having an outstanding sophomore season and is arguably Atlanta’s most improved player from last year.

The teams are yet to be determined, as Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley will conduct their draft on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. on TNT.

Antic tweeted his appreciation for being named to the pool shortly after it was announced:

Greek was Macedionia. Greace, Hellas, Elada… What are You? Colectors of names? You must be nameless.

    • Macedonians to whoom greeks obey

Katsantas, you can try to change the history, but the truth is one. Greeks were conquered by Macedonians. They were enemies! You can’t change that. And, if there were no Britain in France, and stupid economic colonial politics, Aegean part of Macedonia would be within nowadays sovereign Republic of Macedonia.
Now shut up and pay your dues to the world!

The land that you refer to as Greek Macedonia, once was populated with people like my grandfather and grandmother. They called themselves Macedonians and lived happily until your current country by the name of Greece brutally exiled them from their homes and annexed the land under its command. This in today’s world is called Genocide and I think you should start learning some real history.

Greeks take your bullshit somewhere else. No one cares. This is sport and their constitutional name is Republic of Macedonia what ever you like it or not and happens to be recognized by USA. I like to read only about basketball, go to some political forum with yur bullshit that happened 10000 years ago that no one care about.
